Patchwork & Machine Quilting

Over the years I've made a few quilts for family & friends.  They've been traditional patchwork that I've quilted either by hand tying or machine stitch-in-the-ditch methods. I'm starting to look at the pursuit of quilting as an opportunity for artistic expression, and have been exploring more patterns and techniques.

My next project will likely be a Christmas present, so you won't see details here until after Christmas.  I have a plan and all the materials...

"Circles of Love"

This is a quilt I made for our great-nephew who's due to arrive in January. It was my first attempt at quilting using machine embroidered designs, and I laid out the patchwork to compliment the designs.  I also used stitch-in-the-ditch and decorative stitching to further stabilize the quilt, then added edge binding and a label for a finishing touch. The quilt measures 42" x 42".
